The Middlesex London Food Policy Council (MLFPC) seeks an enthusiastic volunteer Treasurer to join the Executive Council. The MLFPC comprises members representing several parts of the food system, including production, distribution, government, education, and more.
Requirements
Middlesex London Food Policy Council members must live or work in Middlesex County or the City of London.
Responsibilities of the Treasurer Role
- Monitor and maintain budget and expenses.
- Keep updated records on the accounts payable and receivable.
- Present summary report on finances to the MLFPC at each meeting.
- Regularly identify all financial risks.
- Chair the MLFPC Finance Committee.
- Explore sustainable funding for MLFPC.
- Liaise with the Council members to ensure the financial viability of MLFPC.
Note:Some financial activities are managed under the London Food Bank Trustee.
Term of Service
Members serve two-year terms, with the possibility of one term of renewal.
Time Commitment
Attend 2-3 monthly meetings, each lasting 1-1½ hours. Additional time is required to fulfill the roles and responsibilities listed above.
Desired Qualifications
Financial Expertise: Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or related financial fields.
Leadership, Communication and Community Engagement skills are an asset.
