Join us in Connecting for Community Impact: A Call for Board Members

 

Dear Community Members,

 

Pillar Nonprofit Network is looking for individuals who are interested in helping to guide and shape the future of our work by joining our Board of Directors. 

 

As we embark on fulfilling the mission and achieving the goals of our Provisional Strategic Plan over the next 18 months, we are eager to welcome passionate and dedicated community-minded individuals who can contribute their skills, insights, and commitment toward advancing our strategic priorities. The Board of Directors is particularly interested in recruiting community members, partners or supporters who have skills or expertise in any of the following areas: 

• Communication, Organization, Fundraising
• Community Development, including regional connections
• Accounting/Finance 
• Property Management
• Environmental protection 
• Insurance, including Insurance Law
• Human Resources

Successful candidates’ terms will commence April 17, 2024. Directors are required to commit approximately 2-5 hours per month to prepare and participate in board and committee meetings. Board meetings are held quarterly on the morning of the second Wednesday (7:30 - 9:00 a.m.) with the possibility for additional and/or extended meetings and events as required throughout the year. Additional Board Member expectations include:

• Participate on board committees
• Participate in board orientation and training
• Become oriented to Pillar programs/services, policies, and protocols
• Act as an ambassador for Pillar in the community
• Become a member of Pillar Nonprofit Network
• Participate in strategic, fundraising, and board planning activities
• Attend the Annual General Meeting
• Comply with Board Governance Policies
• Be committed to the mission of Pillar Nonprofit Network

Aiming for a board that reflects the wide range of experiences, qualifications, and insights of the community, applications are strongly encouraged from  candidates that broaden the diversity of the board in areas such as ethnicity, race, culture, gender, gender identity, age, and ability and lived or living experience.

Candidates not selected in this round of Board recruitment may be contacted for other volunteer opportunities with Pillar Nonprofit Network. Please advise us in your application if you are not open to other opportunities. These are unpaid positions.
