The people of London want to see their city grow. So do we. The best way for this to happen is through economic prosperity.
To help achieve just that Michelle Baldwin, Executive Director of Pillar Nonprofit Network, joined the City of London, London Chamber of Commerce, London Economic Development Corporation, and several members of the business community on the Partnership Panel Advisory Committee for London’s Community Economic Road Map.
The Road Map is an inclusive community economic strategic plan that aims to maximize economic success in London through partnerships and specific actions. As part of the panel, Michelle Baldwin believes that growing London’s economy is a top priority for the city to prosper and that the nonprofit sector can contribute to the city’s success.
Economic growth will make London an even better place to live and work. Reaching London’s economic potential will be achieved through the City’s five economic priorities of becoming a city for entrepreneurs, creating a supportive business environment, supporting and attracting a top quality workforce, developing an exceptional downtown and a vibrant urban environment, and becoming a national centre for medical innovation and commercialization.
With its keen interest in the development of London’s economy and as a responsible stakeholder in the process, Pillar Nonprofit Network is participating by providing entrepreneurs with the opportunity to grow and innovate through a shared space and by encouraging social entrepreneurship. We represent 340 nonprofits that contribute economically, socially, and culturally to London. We encourage the rest of the community - organizations from all sectors and individuals - to participate and partner with the City of London to implement London’s Community Economic Road Map.
