Community Advisory Panel Now Seeking Candidates for the Pillar Board
LONDON, Ontario (March 14, 2023) Applications are now open for candidates seeking to join the Pillar Board of Directors. In an email earlier today to Pillar members and the larger community, the Community Advisory Panel (CAP) charged with recruiting new board members has issued a call for nominations, and the positions are now posted to Pillar's online Volunteer Opportunities page.
Subject to a by-law amendment aiming to reduce the size of the board, the panel is seeking to recommend a slate of nine candidates at the organization's Annual General Meeting April 26, 2023, including three who are interested in a one-year transitional term and six who will serve a two-year term.
The CAP is taking nominations until March 29, and has published a package for prospective nominees or nominators, available online here.
Background
On October 13, 2022, the Pillar Board of Directors announced they were
recruiting for a Community Advisory Panel that would work with the Board to develop a process for the recruitment and selection of new Board members and provide input and recommendations regarding ways that Pillar can address community concerns. The Board announced the
members of that panel January 4, 2023. On January 20, the new CAP shared
details about its first meeting, core purposes and next steps in leading the development and implementation of a Board transition process. Since that time, the panel has held a community conversation at Innovation Works London and issued a feedback survey for stakeholders. CAP members have promised the community that they would use this feedback in subsequent board recruitment and transition.
