Aftercare at Neptune Crescent
If you want to learn more, gain experience with tree care, and help trees thrive, then aftercare is right for you!
No experience or training is required to attend an aftercare event. We’ll teach you everything you need to know at the beginning of the event, and our staff and Tree Specialists will provide guidance to volunteers as needed.
Date: October 5, 2021
Time: 3:30pm - 5:30pm
Location: 344 Neptune Crescent
Registration is required so that we can maintain proper physical distance by limiting participants.
Here are some tips to help you have a great volunteer experience:
Be prompt – we’ll teach you what is required for aftercare at the beginning of the event.
Wear sturdy shoes – no sandals or flip-flops, please.
Wear clothing appropriate to the weather – we run events rain or shine! Don’t forget sunscreen.
Bring water – we’ll have a jug to refill your reusable bottle.
High school students can earn volunteer hours at our events. Don’t forget your forms!
We do cancel plantings due to inclement weather – so please check our website or Facebook page on the day-of if you are unsure.
Consider walking, cycling, carpooling, or taking the bus to our events.
COVID-19 Protocols
We are taking the following steps to ensure the safety of our staff and community:
1. Registration required for all volunteers, to keep numbers low and to ensure contact tracing ability
2. Masks required (except when working independently more than 10 metres away from other volunteers / staff)
3. COVID-19 screening questions asked upon arrival
4. Equipment (such as: shovels and buckets) are cleaned with sanitizing spray before use and between events
5. Gloves are provided to planting volunteers and will be washed after each use
6. Physical distancing will be required except when working with members of your own household
