ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
Marika Sylvain Groendyk is a passionate storyteller who honed her communication skills over 15 years in front-line social services before launching Bluepoint Public Relations in 2020. Using these skills to advocate for her clients and working on a national Sixties Scoop awareness campaign helped form the foundation of Bluepoint PR as a social enterprise committed to equity and to inclusive, trauma-informed communications.
Marika is bilingual and obtained an Honours B.A. from the University of Windsor and a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations from the University of Victoria. As the parent of a child with a communication disorder and communication-based learning disability, she has an intense interest in ensuring communications products are inclusive of all people and abilities.
